Jigar Shah- Solar Champion
Accord Power, a proud member of NYSEIA, attended the NYSEIA Solar Summit in Albany on November 9th, 2023 where Jigar Shah, Director of Loans Program Office for the US Department of Energy accepted his award as a Solar Champion from the New York Solar Energy Industry Association. Shah, the 2003 founder of SunEdison and a co-founder of Generate Capital, expressed his enthusiasm for the growth of the solar market in New York and his interest in broadening the adoption of solar and storage in the State using Virtual Power Plants, or VPPs. VPPs aggregate residential and commercial solar and energy storage assets to partially replace the need for polluting peaker plants by drawing electricity from these resources when the electric grid is straining to meet demand.
