The Election is over (now what?)

Donald J Trump is headed back to the White House and the Senate majority will switch to the Republicans in January 2025. House Republicans have narrowly held on to their majority.
Here’s what President Elect Trump’s said at the New York Economic Club back in early September, “To further defeat inflation, my plan will terminate the Green New Deal, which I call the Green New Scam. The greatest scam in history . . .”
Trump went on to threaten rescinding “all unspent funds under the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act.”

Whether or not to believe him is up to you, but all the signs are pointing to a U-turn on support for renewable energy, and especially any incentives that were put in place during the Biden/Harris administration. That included the 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit for purchases of solar energy equipment and energy storage systems. When the Inflation Reduction Act was passed into law on August 16 of 2022, it was meant to extend those tax benefits for a full ten years. But based on the campaign promises of the newly elected team, it seems likely that the IRA’s wings will be severely clipped, if it is not gutted entirely, and if Trump fully follows through on his rhetoric, those tax benefits could be rescinded as soon as 2025.

Meanwhile, the United Nations recently announced that progress towards reducing global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions ground to an absolute halt in 2023, while the toll for climate disasters in the United States alone so far this year has topped $53 Billion. And that’s not counting the hundreds of lives lost.
This adds up to one thing: If you or your company have considered solar energy as a way to reduce your electric bills and make a positive impact on the environment, NOW is the time to act, before the incentives are reduced, and while you can make the most impact.
Here’s how you can start the process.
